Scopedstechworks.com
and QueuePeek

DS Tech Works is a one-person studio in the United Kingdom. We collect as little data as we can get away with, never share it, and never sell it. This page spells out the specifics.

Summary

The short version, in plain English:

  • This website doesn't use third-party analytics, ad networks, or tracking pixels.
  • Cookies are not used for tracking. If we ever need one — for example to remember a theme preference — it'll be a single first-party cookie clearly described here.
  • The contact form sends your name, email address, and message to hello@dstechworks.com. That's it.
  • The QueuePeek desktop app sends no telemetry. The only network traffic it generates is to the message brokers you explicitly connect to.
  • Your connection strings and credentials are stored in your operating system's secure credential store, never on our servers.

Website

This website is hosted with a standard static-site host. Like any web server, the host produces request logs containing your IP address, user-agent, and the URL you fetched. These logs are retained for at most 30 days for the purpose of diagnosing operational issues and abuse detection, then deleted.

We do not embed Google Analytics, Plausible, Fathom, or any other analytics product. We do not use Google Fonts via their hosted CDN in a way that exposes your IP to Google — fonts are loaded from fonts.googleapis.com, which is the standard delivery URL; if you would prefer self-hosted fonts, let us know and we'll add a no-Google-fonts build.

Contact form

The form on the support page collects your name, email address, and message. When you submit it, that data is delivered to hello@dstechworks.com. We use this information solely to reply to you. We will not add you to a mailing list, share your email with third parties, or use it for marketing.

If you'd rather skip the form, you can email hello@dstechworks.com directly — same inbox.

QueuePeek desktop app

QueuePeek is a desktop application. It runs entirely on your machine and does not connect to any DS Tech Works server. Specifically:

  • No analytics or telemetry. The app does not send usage data, crash reports, error traces, or anything else home.
  • No automatic update checks against our servers. The current build has no auto-updater; future versions, if added, will be opt-in and clearly disclosed.
  • Credentials stay local. Connection strings, access keys, and tokens are stored in your operating system's secure credential store (Windows Credential Manager, macOS Keychain, or libsecret on Linux). They are never written to plaintext files and never leave your machine.
  • Message contents stay local. Any messages you peek, export, or import are read directly from your message broker and stored in memory only. If you choose to export, the file is written to a location you select.

The only outbound network traffic QueuePeek generates is to the message broker endpoints you have explicitly connected to — for example, your-namespace.servicebus.windows.net or your AWS SQS endpoint.

Cookies

This website does not currently set any cookies. If that changes — for example, to remember a chosen theme — we'll list every cookie here with its name, purpose, and lifetime, and we won't use any cookie for tracking or advertising.

Data retention

  • Web server logs: up to 30 days, then deleted.
  • Emails received via the contact form: kept in the inbox until the conversation is resolved, then archived for at most 24 months in case you write back. You can ask for your data to be deleted at any time.
  • App data: stays on your machine until you remove the app or delete its data directory. We have no copy.

Your rights under UK GDPR

If you're in the UK or EU, you have rights over personal data we hold about you, including:

  • The right to access — ask what data we have on you.
  • The right to rectification — ask us to correct it.
  • The right to erasure — ask us to delete it.
  • The right to object — ask us to stop processing it.
  • The right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

To exercise any of these, email hello@dstechworks.com. We'll respond within five working days.

Changes to this policy

Material changes to this policy will be reflected in the Last updated date at the top of the page and, where possible, called out on the homepage for a fortnight.
